If you watched a single second of this year’s Ryder Cup, you heard about Patrick Cantlay’s hat. Or should we say the absence of a hat? There were rumours circulating about why the American wouldn’t don his Team USA cap and reports of a “fractured” locker room due to the decision.

No matter the reason — maybe he’s just not a hat guy — Cantlay became a target for the European fans and a spark for an American squad desperately in need of one. He inadvertently turned a potential Ryder Cup blowout into a battle, and, best of all, avoided the dreaded golf-hat tan line at his Italian wedding on Monday.

Those are some perfect foreheads right there for both Cantlay and Nikki Guidish. A Monday marriage in Rome is certainly something to remember and these photos are picture-perfect, even after the American Marco Simone defeat.

Tan lines are brutal. One time I fell asleep on a beach while reading a book and had a perfect white rectangle centre-frame on my stomach for the rest of the summer, so I unquestionably understand Cantlay’s plight.

The Twitter comments of course had a thought or two on Cantlay’s matrimony from “Still not wearing a hat??? Even at his wedding?? Disgraceful and disrespectful” to “his head looks nice, no tan line” to “I have visions of him at the altar shuffling his feet for over a minute before he said: ‘I do.’”

Ignore the haters, Patrick. The photos look great and you’re happily married. There’ll be another Ryder Cup in 2025. Wear a hat then.

Patrick Cantlay didn’t win the FedEx St Jude Championship, but you don’t get much closer than losing in a playoff to the most in-form player in golf, Lucas Glover.

But while Cantlay’s story had a sad ending on this occasion, we want to focus on the positive. Specifically, his chip on the 10th hole.

Greenside in two shots on the long par 4, Cantlay took out a wedge and nudged his ball on to the green and watched as it trundled up into the hole. He gained almost an entire stroke on the field with one small swing of the club and it spurred Cantlay’s run up the leaderboard.

This wasn’t just a good shot, though. It was also an interesting shot. A clever one, that the rest of us can learn a lot from. So, let’s break it down.

Cantlay looks like he sets up to the ball with the ball back in his stance, and the shaft leaning forward slightly. But the most important thing you’ll notice is how he sets up with the ball more on the toe of his club. That’s important, as we’re about to see …

The perfect touch ?@Patrick_Cantlay joins @JordanSpieth in second place @FedExChamp. pic.twitter.com/1RX01LCeks

— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 13, 2023

As Cantlay swings through, you can see him impact the ball on the toe of his clubface. That does two important things:

It deadens the shot, so the ball doesn’t come out as hot.

It reduces backspin, so that when the ball lands, it starts rolling.

Patrick Cantlay. PGA Tour

The camera angle isn’t great here, but you can also see Cantlay is also swinging slightly from in-to-out, and that the clubface is a little closed to his target. He’s effectively hitting a miniature draw shot here, which is why you see his club track out to the right, but the ball jumps left almost immediately off the clubface.

This further reduces the amount of backspin on the ball.

Patrick Cantlay. PGA Tour

If Cantlay had taken a lower-lofted club and hit a conventional bump-and-run, he could’ve potentially hit this delicate shot too hard, and sent it running past the hole. But if he didn’t take measures to reduce the amount of backspin, his higher-lofted wedge would’ve grabbed the turf too soon and stopped short of the hole.

The spin-reducing moves paired with the higher-lofted wedge gives him the best of both. The ball lands on the fringe but has just enough horsepower to jump forward through it, then begin rolling like a putt.

It’s a clever shot, but not a complicated one. Keep it in mind for the next time you’re greenside with a little green to work with.

As a SoCal native and UCLA product, Patrick Cantlay is coming off a week in which he received plenty of crowd support at Los Angeles Country Club. But the 31-year-old might get some of the biggest cheers directed his way at TPC River Highlands this week. They just might not be directed precisely at, well, him.

Cantlay is playing in the Travelers Championship for a ninth time, the most he’s played any event on the PGA Tour. Of course, it helps when you start playing in a PGA Tour event while you’re still a rising sophomore in college. It helps even more when you shoot the lowest score by an amateur in PGA Tour history.

That came during the second round in 2011 when Cantlay, then 19, fired a then course-record 60 (“Mr 58” Jim Furyk broke it in 2016) to take the 36-hole lead. He failed to break par over the weekend, but the top-25 finish signalled the arrival of a future PGA Tour star and the following year he made his pro debut at the Travelers. Crazy enough, it took 11 more years for Cantlay to match that score on the PGA Tour, which he did at last year’s Shriners Children’s Open.

“Yeah, I think golf is a funny game like that,” Cantlay said at his pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday. “I remember that day I just got in a rhythm and felt like every putt was going to go in and pretty much they all did.”

But back to why this year could be different as Cantlay, now 31, tries to win the Travelers, one of the PGA Tour’s designated events in 2023, for the first time. He’ll have a different, but familiar face reading those putts now. And one that’s especially familiar around these parts.

That would be Joe LaCava. The long-time caddie for Tiger Woods and Fred Couples among others began working with Cantlay full time last month with the 15-time major champ undergoing his latest surgery. Long before that, LaCava grew up in nearby Newtown, Connecticut.

But with Woods having never played in the annual tournament in the Constitution State, LaCava hasn’t worked it many years. Not that he isn’t still familiar with the course.

“It’s been a long time,” LaCava told CTInsider.com earlier this week. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play TPC enough times to know the course well. I think I did work there two times over 20 years.”

Since joining forces full time, Cantlay and LaCava have played four events together. The results (T-21, T-9, T-30 and T-14) have been solid, and Cantlay is loving his new looper.

“He’s been great,” the eight-time PGA Tour winner said. “He’s a pro. He’s done this for a number of years for some great players. It’s really nice to be out there with him. He’s funny, too, so it’s been a good hang.”

Not that Cantlay needs much help around here. In addition to that spectacular debut a dozen years ago, the 2021 FedEx Cup champ arrives with five consecutive top-15 finishes. And he’s also coming off another top 15 at last week’s US Open. So will the crowds be cheering louder for the World No. 4 or their local hero carrying his bag?

“I’m not sure,” Cantlay said with a laugh. “We’re a team, so I don’t mind either way.”

Nelly Korda. Julio Aguilar

Joe LaCava must have been really anxious to get back out caddieing again. After starting last week working full-time for Patrick Cantlay on the PGA Tour, Tiger Woods’ former caddie is making a one-week cameo on another top-ranked player’s bag: Nelly Korda.

The LPGA Tour confirmed that LaCava, 59, will work this week for the No. 1 player in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings during the Cognizant Founders Cup at Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey.

Ben Walton

The opportunity arose as Korda’s usual caddie, Jason McDede, had his first son on Saturday, April 29. It was the morning of the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship, where Korda finished T-6.

Nelly Korda has Joe LaCava on the bag this week at the Founders Cup. I’m told this is a one week arrangement and that her regular caddie Jason McDede is expected to be back on the bag for Korda’s next event. pic.twitter.com/r9Ntkw1YQI

“It was very unexpected, but they’re both doing really well, both healthy, and Jason is back home with the baby,” Korda said. “Yeah, I can’t wait to meet him

Korda had her sister Jessica’s caddie, Kyle Morrison, work for her during the remainder of the event and the International Crown. According to a report from Golf Channel, McDede will caddie for Korda again in her next event. Per the LPGA’s website, Korda’s next start will be the Mizuho Americas Open June 1-4 at Jersey City.

LaCava picked up Patrick Cantlay’s bag last week at the Wells Fargo Championship, where Cantlay said that the change would be full-time, apparently ending the 12-year relationship between LaCava and Woods. With the World No. 4 taking off this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson, the Founders is relatively close to Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, where Cantlay will be teeing it up in next week’s PGA Championship.

Patrick Cantlay with Joe LaCava. Kevin C Cox

Joe LaCava had to be pleased with his first official round on the bag as Patrick Cantlay’s new full-time caddie. The tandem shot an opening 67 at the Wells Fargo Championship, and maybe even more importantly to the veteran looper, it sounds like he’s already getting through to his younger player. Well, in terms of sports teams, that is.

Following their first round at Quail Hollow, Cantlay was asked a slew of LaCava-related questions by reporters, including this final one: “Has he converted you into a Yankees or Giants or Rangers fan?” In case you’re not aware, Tiger Woods’ long-time caddie is a huge New York sports fan, often wearing shirts of his favourite teams under his caddie bibs.

So it was no surprise that Cantlay was asked a lot about LaCava, and about this topic specifically. And it was no surprise that this was the PGA Tour star’s answer:

“Not yet, not yet. He’s working on Yankees fan, though,” Cantlay said. “He’s working on me.”

Joe didn’t waste any time now, did he? You love to see it. Well, at least, I do as a fellow New York sports fan. And Joe’s method of starting with the Yanks makes sense give the fact that it’s baseball season. Joe is still licking his wounds from the Rangers losing a Game 7 to the New Jersey Devils on Monday, and there will be plenty of time for him to push the Giants before the NFL returns.

But LaCava has his work cut out for him. As a SoCal guy, we’re assuming Cantlay is a Dodgers fan and they’re in first place yet again. Meanwhile, the Yanks are in the basement in the AL East. In any event, it sounds like these two will be discussing this stuff a lot in the coming months.

“Yeah, mostly anything but golf in between shots and then click in 30 seconds before,” Cantlay said of what the two talk about out on the course.

Keep working, Joe. Keep working.

Fred Couples with Jow LaCava and Tiger Woods. Harry How

It was first reported on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Championship that Tiger Woods’ long-time caddie, Joe LaCava, had made a permanent move to Patrick Cantlay’s bag. He replaced Matt Minister, known by the nickname “Rev”, who has worked with Cantlay since 2017. But if fans were hoping Cantlay’s Wednesday press conference in Charlotte would shed more light on the situation, they were disappointed.

Cantlay, striking a matter-of-fact tone, confirmed the basic facts of the switch — that he let Minister go after the Zurich Classic and is bringing LaCava in as a full-time replacement — but wouldn’t elaborate on the cause of his split with Minister or any dialogue with Tiger Woods.

In fact, Cantlay revealed only two new nuggets — that Fred Couples was the facilitator, to a degree, and that he didn’t communicate with Woods in any way during the process.

“I’ve been friends with Fred Couples a long time,” Cantlay said. “He’s been in Newport Beach for a number of years now, and we’ve played a lot of golf together. So I’ve heard a number of great things about Joe … when I reached out to Joe, he said it was possible and [it] ended up working out. I’m really happy about it. … I haven’t spoken to Tiger.”

LaCava, however, did speak with Woods, getting his approval. Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg told ESPN that “you shouldn’t read anything more in to that other than Joe wants to caddie. He loves it. It’s his passion”.

Cantlay called LaCava a “steady hand on the steering wheel”, and added: “I know he’s been in every moment a caddie could be in and he’s just a good guy.”

As for Minister, Cantlay’s words sounded slightly prepared, in the manner of a press release.

“We accomplished a lot together, and I’m really proud of all we accomplished,” he said. “He’s a great friend of mine, and we had a lot of good finishes together and a lot of wins. So I’m incredibly grateful to him. Just needed a change.”

Minister was on Cantlay’s bag for eight PGA Tour wins, including three playoff events, the latest of which came at the BMW Championship last August. Cantlay’s play in majors has been less impressive, with just three top-10s in 24 tries, which the 31-year-old tour pro chalked up on Wednesday to an anomaly. If that had anything to do with turning to LaCava, he gave no indication of that, and it’s doubtful he will at any point in the future.

Tiger Woods and Joe LaCava. Ross Kinnaird

With another surgery sidelining Tiger Woods for the foreseeable future, his long-time caddie Joe LaCava has made a move that will keep him employed for the foreseeable future.

At the Zurich Classic just two weeks ago, LaCava looped for Steve Stricker, a good buddy of Woods’ who LaCava jumped at the opportunity to caddie for. Apparently, though, LaCava was angling for something a little more permanent, and he’s found exactly that in one of the best and slowest players in the world, Patrick Cantlay.

On the bag for @patrick_cantlay this week at the @WellsFargoGolf and for the foreseeable future is Joe Lacava who got the blessing from friend and former boss @TigerWoods to make the move to Cantlay. This is not a one off but a full time move for Lacava. pic.twitter.com/nAIMtmylpb

— Todd Lewis (@ToddLewisGC) May 2, 2023

The news was first reported on Tuesday by Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis, who snapped a photo of LaCava at the range alongside Cantlay at the Wells Fargo Championship. LaCava has caddied for other players during his tenure on Woods’ bag before — including Cantlay, who used him at the 2021 Northern Trust — a necessity given how infrequently Woods plays even when healthy. But he’s always still gone back to Woods whenever the 15-time major champion tees it up.

That does not appear to be the case this time, with Lewis reporting this is a “permanent” move and not a one-off at Quail Hollow:

LaCava confirmed that he’ll be working full-time for Cantlay. “Tiger and I have talked about if something were to come up, feel free to do something. ‘I know how much you miss it, how much you love caddieing,’” LaCava told Sports Illustrated on Tuesday. “And when this opportunity arose, I checked with Tiger. And he said you’re crazy not to take the job, go forward, go win some tournaments, go have a great time.”

This news comes just 12 days after Woods announced that he underwent a subtalar fusion procedure to address post-traumatic arthritis from the injuries to his right foot suffered in a car accident two years ago. That all but ended his 2023 season before it even really got started (Woods competed in just two events, the Genesis Invitational and the Masters), with one doctor stating he could be anywhere from six months to a year away from actually teeing it up again.

“Joe called Tiger to ask him and get his approval,” Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, told ESPN. “Of course, Tiger gave it. Tiger and Joe are like brothers, tremendous friends. You shouldn’t read anything more in to that other than Joe wants to caddie. He loves it. It’s his passion. He’s great at it and one of the best.

“Tiger said repeatedly he’s going to play a very limited schedule around the majors, his events, the father-son, assuming that everything goes well in the rehab and recovery,” Steinberg said. “Joe wants to work, and so I think Tiger got that. We’re just moving on.”

LaCava, 59, first started caddieing for Woods in 2011 after stints with various tour pros, most notably Fred Couples and Dustin Johnson. With LaCava on the bag, Woods won 12 tournaments overall, including his 15th major championship, the 2019 Masters. LaCava also caddied for Woods when he won his last PGA Tour event, the 2019 Zozo Championship, which tied Tiger with Sam Snead for the most career PGA Tour titles at 82.

No doubt, getting on the bag of Cantlay, the No. 4-ranked player in the world, was an offer LaCava couldn’t pass up. Unfortunately, this does mean that Matt Minister, Cantlay’s long-time caddie, is now out of a job. (A source tells Golf Digest that Cantlay let Minister go after the Zurich Classic). Considering his résumé, which includes working with Nick Price, Jeff Sluman, Chris Kirk and Sangmoon Bae, he should be able to get on to another bag soon.

Slow play. It’s all the rage right now. Just ask Patrick Cantlay, who caught all sorts of slow-play shrapnel at the Masters and the RBC Heritage, for (seemingly) good reason.

Fortunately for Cantlay, the discourse died down a bit this past weekend, mainly because the Zurich Classic didn’t have nearly the amount of eyeballs on it as both the Masters and the RBC Heritage did. It helped, too, that the slow-play attention shifted to the LPGA Tour, where rookie Lucy Li incurred a slow-play fine during the third round of the Chevron Championship.

But soon enough (our guess: the Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow), Cantlay will reclaim his spot as public enemy No. 1 no matter how many excuses he, his buddies on tour or the tour itself makes for him. As fellow pro Michael Kim put it on Sunday evening, though, Cantlay is far from the only slow one out there and arguably not even close to being the slowest:

Y’all think Cantlay is slow… you should see some others… ??‍ I think there should be a monthly report of the slowest players on @PGATOUR. Public shaming won’t work on Cantlay but might work on others.

— Michael S. Kim (@Mike_kim714) April 24, 2023

While they’re all fine points, the point about public shaming not working on Cantlay is as bang-on as it gets. Could it work on others? Unless it’s actually put into action, it’s hard to say.

In 2019, DP World Tour player Edoardo Molinari, brother of Francesco, tweeted out a slow-play report, one that featured names like Tiger Woods, Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau (it featured Francesco’s name, too). This was in response to a five-and-half-hour round that Molinari had played on the DP World Tour on a course “without rough”. There were nearly 150 names on the list Molinari sent out, but only three of them were fined, each $3,000.

Therein lies the problem. You can tweet out lists and public shame and fine financially well-off pros small sums of money all you want, but unless there’s a penalty that truly hurts a player’s score or his wallet, nothing will really change. All you have to do is listen to the way some players talk about the slow-play outrage to know that there is minimal interest in fixing the issue.

“All the things that have happened as of late have all been within the guidelines of the tour and what’s supposed to happen,” Xander Schauffele said this past Wednesday. “No one’s been penalised for slow play or anything of that nature. So we’re all operating within the framework of what the tour gives us. If enough people complain or if enough tour pros complain, that’s something the tour needs to address to either make it faster or change the time par. Without any context, it gets tricky because when you set up golf courses with Stimp 13 or 14 greens, tees in interesting positions, and pins in tough spots, it’s just going to take longer.

“We’re not playing like the local muni that sort of the average Joe compares our time par to,” he added. “We’re playing for a couple million — you know, $3.6 million. If you’re going to spend an extra minute to make sure you put yourself in the right spot, we’re going to do it.”

Cantlay more or less agreed, referring to the pace-of-play numbers not changing much over the last decade-plus.

“Trying to speed it up, I’d be curious to know how they’d want to do that,” Cantlay said. “I played the last two tournaments, and my group hasn’t been warned at all. So we’ve been in position the entire time. I don’t know how you would want even the groups that I’ve been in to play faster when our groups are in position and can’t go faster because the group in front of us is right in front of us.”

Congrats to everyone playing in this week’s Zurich Classic for finishing the first two rounds in time! Even with Mother Nature rearing her ugly head and delaying play for two-and-a-half hours! OK, so it helped a LOT that the guys were playing in the speedier foursomes format, AKA alternate shot. Anyway, here are our five takeaways from Friday.

The defending champs are going to be tough to beat

Following an opening four-ball score of 67, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay needed a low score in foursomes just to make the cut. They did that and then some, firing a nine-under 63 to break the tournament record.

“We needed to be aggressive here in alternate shot, which is a little dangerous, especially if it gets windy,” Schauffele said. “So fortunately this morning we took advantage of really calm conditions and then played some of our better golf when the wind picked up a little bit. It was just necessary.”

Even the weather delay couldn’t deter the California pals, who entered this week as the favourites — and remain that way heading into the weekend.

“I think it’s just Xander is really good, and I can play well, too,” Cantlay said. “So when we get two guys together that are really good, and I think it helps that we’re friends, but when you get two world-class players playing together and we both have a day where we’re on like today, we can post a low one.”

In addition to the record score in alternate shot, their front-nine 30 also established a new tournament best. This after setting records for best four-ball score (59) and four-day total (29 under) during last year’s win.

“We’d like to get that 59 again in best ball,” Cantlay said. “We’re going to try.”

If they pull that off, everyone else will be trying for second place.

A pair of childhood friends take the lead

That being said, Schauffele and Cantlay don’t hold the 36-hole lead. in fact, they trail three teams, including the duo of Wyndham Clark and Beau Hossler, whose bogey-free 67 put them at 16 under, one shot in front of the tandems of Sungjae Im-Keith Mitchell and Sam Ryder-Doc Redman.

While Schauffele and Cantlay have gotten close in recent years playing in Ryder and Presidents Cups, Clark and Hossler go father back.

“We’ve known each other since we were 10,” Clark said. “We’ve been friends for a long time, so that was not an issue. It was more we both didn’t have partners going into the LA Open at Riviera, and we were paired together the first two days, and we kind of were talking it through, and by the end of the first two days, we were like, all right, let’s play together.”

So far, that’s proved to be a smart decision. Although, that answer was followed by this funny exchange:
Q. How did you meet at that young age?
BEAU HOSSLER: Just junior tournaments. Obviously Wyndham grew up in Denver, I grew up in California, and obviously at that age it would be more of like a regional tournament, and then as we got older it grew into national tournaments, and then us being close to the same age, we played in college together and got on Tour probably within a year of each other. It feels like we’ve never not really been playing golf together.
WYNDHAM CLARK: Unfortunately.

Funny stuff, Wyndham, but if you guys team up to win your maiden PGA Tour titles, you’re going to be best friends forever.

The Fitzpatrick brothers cool down

OK, so no pair of teammates are tighter than these two — and they were the talk of the tournament after an opening 62. But a second-round 71 will put the Fitzpatricks five off the Clark and Hossler’s lead heading into the weekend.

The English pair only managed a pair of birdies, but finished with one to stay inside the top 20 on the leaderboard.

It’s still a good spot to be in, especially for Alex, who missed the cut in his only previous PGA Tour start at the 2022 Valspar Championship. So at the very least, the Wake Forest product will share a check with big brother. And considering how much Matt won last week, maybe he’ll let little bro have a bigger cut.

John Daly and David Duval probably won’t be playing together again

David Duval and John Daly. Jason Allen

At least, in this event. Golf fans were intrigued at this over-50 pairing, but it turned out to be a total disaster as the pair of major champs shot 83 on Friday to finish dead last. By a dozen shots.

Daly and Duval were playing because the Zurich has an unlimited amount of sponsor exemptions to round out the field. But while they may have drawn big crowds, we’re guessing their big numbers on the scorecard will make them a one-and-done entry.

Not that this was a surprise. Unlike. . .

A marquee pairing misses the cut

Schauffele and Cantlay may have been the pre-tournament favourites, but Collin Morikawa and Max Homa were a close second. And yet the pair of Cal Golden Bears will be hibernating this weekend.

A spectacular recovery shot by Morikawa on No. 10 set up a birdie that moved them on the cut line, but a disappointing eight pars to close kept them two shots off the number. And just one shot better than US Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker.

If Morikawa and Homa want to partner again this fall in Rome, they better hope Johnson was too busy playing to notice.

The last sporting event on earth you’d expect there to be heckling at, outside of the Masters (which literally doesn’t allow it), is the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, which just so happens to fall directly after Augusta National on the schedule. Harbour Town is famously the most laid back week of the season, a byproduct of being after the most mentally and emotionally gruelling week of the year and being held in the extremely chill area that is Hilton Head Island in April.

But the 2023 RBC Heritage had a much different vibe with it achieving elevated event status, meaning big-time players came to play for big-time money. Normally, the event is lucky to get Jordan Spieth and maybe one other big name to show up, but this year, just four days after the Masters, everybody but Rory McIlroy showed up, Jon Rahm included.

Also among that group was Patrick Cantlay, who could have desperately used a week away from the spotlight after his pace of play came into question on Sunday at the Masters. Credit to Cantlay for still showing up at Harbour Town, where he managed a solo third finish but did have to deal with more slow-play scrutiny both on social media and on the actual golf course. Here’s Cantlay getting heckled, at Harbour Town of all places, to “hurry it up”, which caused his caddie Matt Minister to react to the crowd:

Shared with me from the tournament this weekend. Slow play jokes clearly getting to some one already…@TronCarterNLU @DEWALTtough pic.twitter.com/PrujuQeRQS

Oh boy. For fans to do this at Harbour Town means Cantlay has become an overnight slow-play villain, something he’s keenly aware of based off his self-troll from Friday, when he made a hole-in-one and tweeted out the video with the caption “Playing faster!” Not exactly a fix to the problem, but it was at least an acknowledgment that there is one.

That said, it didn’t appear like Cantlay was doing much to fix it on the weekend in South Carolina. A video of Cantlay taking nearly a minute to hit a four-foot putt during the final round went viral, specifically two videos comparing the length of Cantlay’s routine to two separate but equally hilarious scenes from “Happy Gilmore”. He also took a ton of time to hit that chip off a bulkhead on the 14th hole, though that was somewhat understandable given the difficulty of the shot and the magnitude of the moment late in the round.

And then there was this video, also from Sunday, of a fan timing Cantlay’s pre-shot routine on a different hole:

This is getting out of control @patrick_cantlay pic.twitter.com/xUrRehTRGd

— Beer At The Turn ??‍ (@tap_it_in_golf) April 17, 2023

If this fan’s timer on his phone is to be believed, Cantlay took nearly three minutes to hit this shot. Even if you’re behind a tree or on a bulkhead and you’re playing for $3.6 million, it should never take nearly three minutes to hit a shot. But, as it’s already been said one million times and will be said one million more, unless the PGA Tour enforces slow-play penalties, nothing will change on the pace-of-play front.
