Long-drive competitor Phillis Meti lost in the finals of last night’s televised “Mile High Showdown.” But Meti left Denver with something better than a victory: a new world record.

In her semifinal match, Meti carried her tee ball 340 yards, a distance that’s ho-hum in these type of events. However, it appears Meti’s ball makes contact with a marker or sprinkler head, shooting the rock forward 60 yards.

The drive, finishing at 406 yards, counted as a new world record for longest women’s drive.

Troy Mullins defeated Meti in the finals with a 374-yard bomb, with Meti “only” able to muster a drive of 363 yards.
