On Sunday, Greg Norman revealed he had registered a positive COVID-19 test and was back in hospital to receive an infusion of antibodies.

It came after the U.S.-based Australian had returned home after spending Christmas in the emergency room with COVID-19 symptoms.

Norman, 65, took to Instagram Saturday to thank family, friends and fans for their well-wishes following his Friday hospital visit. Nomran said he was self-admitted to the ER due to “fever joint and muscle aches especially in my back and headaches.”

“Still have most but on a lesser level,” Norman wrote before returning the positive test. “These are what made me admit myself on Christmas Day as I wanted to know my status to Covid for the health and safety for all around me. I had a chest X-Ray and blood test where 2 markers showed up leading the Doc to say, assume you are positive with these symptoms and markers. They released me to continue quarantining at home on medication.”

Last week Norman played with his son Greg Jr. in the PNC Championship. Norman alluded to being exposed to the virus during that time frame, and that despite a negative test at the tournament along with a negative test on Tuesday he has remained in isolation since Sunday night. On Wednesday COVID symptoms “raised their ugly head,” Norman said, with Greg Jr. announcing Friday that he and his fiancée had registered positive COVID-19 tests.

Norman said he does not have his latest COVID-19 test results, and until he registers two consecutive negatives he will remain in self-quarantine.

“Again thank you all for your concerns love and support and please be safe stay healthy and be smart,” Norman wrote. “And let’s put this 2020 in our rearview mirrors and look to 2021 and beyond where we can get back to life in whatever the new normal will be. God bless you all.”

Norman, 65, shared the news Friday with a series of images, stating “This sums it all up. My Christmas Day.”

“On behalf of millions, **** Covid,” Norman wrote. “Let’s get this [stuff] behind us never to experience it again.”

Norman had posted a message on Christmas Eve that he was in self-quarantine after exhibiting “mild symptoms,” although he noted his doctor had told him a test earlier in the week was negative.

Also on Christmas Day, Norman’s son, Greg Norman Jr., announced on Instagram that he and his fiancée had tested positive for COVID-19. “Michelle got it hard. 4 days of fever, body aches, migraine headaches. I maybe had a slight headache. Really nothing.”

Two weeks ago Norman hosted two dozen professional players at his QBE Shootout, a team event that is an unofficial tournament on the PGA Tour. The Shootout supports CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, raising more than $14 million for the charity and other foundations since it began in 1989. Norman then played in last week’s PNC Championship with Greg Jr.

Norman owns 88 worldwide wins, including two Open Championship victories. He spent 331 weeks as the World No. 1, a feat surpassed only by Tiger Woods, and was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2001.

It’s official: A former World No. 1 and multiple-time major champion will make his long-awaited return to competitive golf at the end of this year. Welcome back, Greg Norman! What, did you think we were talking about someone else? Sorry.

While Tiger Woods teases us with videos of his swing, the man who has spent the second-most weeks in the top spot of the Official World Golf Ranking has given us a date for his comeback. Well, his “one-time” comeback.

Norman will compete with his son, Greg Norman Jr., at the PNC Father-Son Challenge, which begins Dec. 13 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. And the two made this announcement in the form of an amusing video. Check it out:

David Duval and stepson Nick Karavites are the defending champs in the team event that pairs a major champ with a family member.

Norman, who mainly keeps himself busy with his various business ventures and cutting down trees with chainsaws, last teed it up in a tournament at the 2012 Senior British Open when he missed the cut. He played in one other PGA Tour Champions event in 2012, a T-53 at the Constellation Senior Players Championship. Prior to that, he played in six senior events in 2009, including a T-4 at the U.S. Senior Open.

We especially love the jumping jacks and sit-ups in the video, although, judging by the Shark’s impressive physique at 62, he doesn’t need to do much to get back into golf shape.
