In golf, there may not be a more beautiful phrase than “tap-in eagle.” There may not be a more rare phrase either, unless you’re on the PGA Tour. Even if that’s the case, tap-in eagles don’t come around all that often.

That would explain why this dude wanted to finish it out. There’s no such thing as saying “that’s good” on an eagle putt. Don’t care if it’s from three feet away like this guy’s eagle look, or if it’s hanging on the edge of the hole. In order for an eagle to be an eagle, that ball better rattle the bottom of the cup.

Sadly, this guy’s ball did not. In fact, it never did, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. WARNING: What you are about to watch contains extremely graphic content:

No words. Absolutely zero words. How do you possibly recover from this? Personally, I think I’d hang up the spikes and clubs forever. There is no coming back.

P.S. Asking his buddy to give him the bogey putt has to be the lowest point in this guy’s life. I’m not even trying to be mean. He’s just begging for scraps. Tough to watch. Praying for this dude.

Not surprisingly, he is still really good at golf. Also not surprisingly, not everyone is Rory McIlroy.

Enter Thomas Bjorn. Even at 49, the man who captained Europe to a win at the 2018 Ryder Cup is clearly no slouch as evidenced by his 15 career Euro Tour titles. But apparently he was a bit rustier than Rory when he went to film a chipping tip. A chipping tip that for some reason was filmed inside his house.

Watch and listen for the disastrous results:

When you try and film a @CallawayGolfEU Tour Tip but you haven’t picked up a club since Feb! ????? pic.twitter.com/yJ1Y6X6GcE

If you thought you heard broken glass, well, you did. Here’s a photo Bjorn posted shortly after:

And here’s the end result! ? pic.twitter.com/R8A0LdRkAl

Good times! This was not what we had in mind when we suggested you try these indoor drills during quarantine.

Of course, a lot of people got a kick out of the situation. One of Bjorn’s players on the 2018 European Ryder Cup team, Francesco Molinari, was among those quick to respond:

It could have been worse. Well, not really. A man tried to hit his golf ball out of a lake, but wound up losing his golf club instead. Yes, the guy could have pulled a Woody Austin and fallen into the water, but again, this is worse.

Because when we say he lost his club, we mean it’s gone for good. As in, it’s laying at the bottom of that lake, a shiny ornament for the fish to enjoy. We’re not sure how this guy managed to throw his club (that far) behind him, but thanks to whomever obtained this video proof.

Anyway, watch the clip and we bet you’ll be laughing as hard as this poor dude’s friends were:
