Tickets are selling fast for this year’s event so get yours now before they sell out. Tickets cost AED 650 for which you will get access to the driving range and practice facilities from noon ahead of the 1.30pm shotgun-start, 18-hole pairs shambles event.

Celebrity captains — including returning skipper, former Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby union star Tom Shanklin — will once again be one of the big draws.

“I really enjoyed the OG Golf Day last year,” Shanklin said. “I thought it was fantastic. Really well organised and everyone knew where to go, where they were teeing off and where the buggies were. Loads of free OG kit, you didn’t want for anything. It was very sociable and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“The format and scoring was all taken care of, and those are the best days. No one was asking questions and everyone knew what they were doing.

“Golf in the Middle East is completely different to what I am used to in the UK as, obviously, it is warmer, the greens are a lot faster. The greens are tough but good. You want to play on these greens as that is what the pros play on — like ‘glass’. They were so fast! The fairways are beautiful, not muddy like in the UK. It was like hitting off a green they were that well looked after. It was one of the best golf days I have ever been on.”

All players will receive a complimentary OG Classic polo shirt, an all-you-can-eat-and-drink packages, and a screening of the Rugby World Cup final alongside Shanklin from 11pm.

Out on the course, competitions such as longest drive and nearest to the pin will be on offer with prizes including golf days, golf clubs, brunches and much more.

This event is part of OG Classic’s pledge to support the wider UAE community across all sports.

Please note: To be eligible for any of the post-event prizes, an official EGF handicap/recognised handicap is required, and players under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.
