Village of Bonita resident and UPS delivery driver David Aaron Clement attacked his UPS manager over a golf cart dispute, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Clement was asked to get out of the cart as it was going to someone else, and he refused to exit the holiday delivery vehicle.

This, in vintage Floridian fashion, led to the manager getting into the golf cart and sitting beside Clement who still would not relinquish the cart. It was then that Clement became “irate” and punched his manager twice in the shoulder and began to shove him, yelling obscenities all the while. To make matters worse, he removed the golf cart keys from a key ring and threw them into the grass.

Witnesses to the altercation corroborated the UPS manager’s story, and Clement was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He eventually was released after posting $1,000 bond.

The other 49 states might call this a bizarre event, but in the Sunshine State it’s just an annual tradition to really jumpstart the holiday season.

The wrong kind of shots were fired early Friday morning at Trump National Doral when a gunman entered the club’s hotel lobby, according to multiple reports.

Police responded to a call that a man was “yelling and spewing information” at 1:30am from the Miami-area resort. Gunfire was exchanged before the man was shot several times, arrested, and taken to a local hospital.

One police officer suffered a broken wrist.

“He was yelling and spewing some information about President Trump and that’s what we know so far,” Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez said. “And he had an American flag that he did drape over the counter.”

Before he became President, Donald Trump purchased the Doral Resort & Spa, which includes four golf courses, in 2012. The resort’s Blue Course (nicknamed “The Blue Monster”) hosted an annual PGA Tour stop from 1962 through 2016 when the event was moved to Mexico following controversial comments by Trump during his campaign.

President Trump was not at the club at the time of the shooting. The Secret Service, FBI and police are all investigating the incident.
