Tiger Woods turned the ripe old age of 47 on December 30, and as the world prepared to welcome the new year, the 15-time major champ’s BFF Justin Thomas took time out to remind the ageing star that time is no longer on his side — in a good-natured, humorous Instagram jibe.

JT, in his prime at 29, has some way to go to match his idol Tiger, with two majors to his name — the 2017 and 2022 PGA Championship — but he didn’t let that stop him getting in the final jab of 2022 with his sparring partner, who have traded jibes in recent times, including some trash talk at the recent PNC Championship, where JT and his dad took on Tiger and young Charlie Woods.

“Happy birthday old man. Here’s to seeing you more in 2023. Sincerely, The golfing world,” Thomas posted on Instagram.

Tiger played only nine rounds in 2022, so maybe JT will get his ‘Golfing World’ wish if the ‘old man’ can stay fit in the coming year.
