Following heavy rain on Wednesday, and with more forecast for the opening day of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club, spectators have been urged to make use of public transport, as the on-site car parking will be closed.

A statement from the organisers read: “Due to the inclement weather reported, the event has made minor adjustments to the guest experience on Thursday only.

“During tournament days, General Admission Parking is located on the fairways of Faldo golf course, the adjacent course within Emirates Golf Club.

“As consistent rain is predicted throughout Thursday, the decision has been made to relocate these car parks to protect the golf course from severe damage.

“There will be no public parking available at Emirates Golf Club and spectators are strongly advised to use public transport where possible. The following advice is recommended:

The Al Khail Metro Station, located directly adjacent to Emirates Golf Club, will run from 5am to 11pm.

RTA and Careem taxis have a drop-off point directly outside Emirates Golf Club. Careem is offering discounted fares for journeys to and from the Emirates Golf Club throughout the tournament (Code: DDC23).

Limited parking is available on the RTA roads around the perimeter of Emirates Golf Club.”
