The DP World Tour’s main sponsor is creating a global impact thanks to its innovative programme to help grow the game — by giving lost golf balls a shot on the world’s courses.

A DP World shipping container has been doing the rounds along with the globe-trotting players this season, all the while getting filled with lost and unwanted balls to be redistributed at grassroot golf projects.

Unveiled at the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic in January, the DP World container has travelled around the world collecting balls at various tour events, thanks to donations from DP World Tour players, fans, and even professional divers and children on golf ball hunts.

Not only is there the main 20-foot container, there are also mini containers at DP World Tour events to help collect balls at every stop of the season.

Following the conclusion of this year’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, DP World will use its expertise as a leader in global supply chain solutions to redistribute the golf balls to five grassroots organisations around the world.

Next month, DP World will be unveiling the five global beneficiaries which are focused on three key areas of growth for the sport — disability golf, junior golf, and ladies’ golf — hoping to inspire and encourage more people to take up the sport.

Each organisation will receive a proportion of the tens-of-thousands of golf balls that are currently filling up the Second Life Container.
