As the golf world eagerly awaits next week’s actual Ryder Cup, we got a little taste of how exciting team golf can be thanks to a buddies trip version of the biennial competition.
The details are scarce on this one, but apparently one dude drained a putt from off the green to win the whole shebang. What made the situation even better was that apparently the golfer in question is a 30-handicapper. Which, probably explains why he wasn’t chipping. Although, top golf instructors are suggesting going with the putter more and more in those situations, but I digress . . .
Anyway, this guy holed the putt and set off one of the most epic celebrations you’ll ever see. Have a look at this wild finish that came via X’s @PGALIVHotTakes:

What a moment. Team USA’s celebration at Brookline in 1999 has nothing on that. Justin Leonard didn’t even take his shirt off!
We can only imagine the celebration that kept going off the course. These guys probably got Tyrrell Hatton level of sauced. Anyway, fingers crossed we get a similarly dramatic finish at Bethpage Black.
